Bear Cub Lodging: Jasper attractions.
Jasper and Jasper National Park are year-round destinations of interest to people from around the world. Here is a brief, visual taste of why...
Jasper Tramway: It's all about the scenery right?
That's the Jasper townsite behind and far below this tram car.
The Tram runs daily from before the snows disappear from Whistlers Mountain in May until they come again late October.
The world famous Maligne Lake...
Boat tours run to Spirit Island from late May, when the ice leaves the lake, until early October.
Take what Reader's Digest's magazine says is the best boat tour of Canada from Maligne Lake Tours. You can rent a canoe or a fishing boat at the lake or from one of several other providers in Jasper.
The public parking area is also an excellent place to start a day of hiking into the alpine meadows or any of the lower-elevation trails around the lake.
Mount Edith Cavell: One of the several scenic signpost mountains of the Jasper area.
The hike up to and in the alpine meadows of Mount Edith Cavell start at the parking lot at the end of a true "mountain road": twisty, turny and not recommended for motorhomes.
White water rafting:
One style of raft touring available on Jasper's rivers...
Float tours on the Athabasca River: Another style of rafting...
This is called a "Float" raft tour – far less stressful.
Rafting of either kind is an excellent thing to do on rainy days. At the start of each trip you are given a rainproof jacket to wear. Warm and dry while still active outside: perfect.
Marmot Basin: skiing and snowboarding. Winter brings its own set of outdoor activities.
We're very proud of the five months of skiing and snowboarding available up at Marmot Basin.
More than skiing happens too...
Maligne Canyon ice tours
Tour the bottom of the frozen Maligne Canyon.
And this is still Canada after all...
Skating on frozen lakes
The ice on Pyramid Lake is cleared for informal hockey or just skating fun.
In the background is Pyramid Mountain. It is another of the signpost mountains of the Jasper area.
